Classic Lasagna

Ingredients
  • 100 g Parmesan (Grated)
  • 10 Lasagna sheets
  • For Bechamel Sauce
  • 6 tbsp Butter
  • 800 ml Milk
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 4 tbsp Flour
  • 4 tsp Black pepper
  • 6 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg (Grated)
  • For Tomato Sauce
  • 200 ml Tomato puree
  • 500 g Minced meat
  • 4 tbsp Olive oil
  • 50 g Chopped onion (Half of a medium sized onion)
  • 400 ml Water
  • 2 Bay leaf
  • 4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tsp Thyme
  • 2 tsp Mint
Instructions
    For Tomato Sauce
  1. Pour olive oil on a large pan, add minced meat and chopped onions on top and turn on the burner to high heat. Keep stirring until its color becomes dark brown. Crumble the bay leaves on top and cook for 1-2 minutes more.
  2. Add the water and tomato puree on top. Lower the heat and keep stirring until the mixture boils. When it boils, add the spices and close the lid of the pan halfway. Leave it to boil for 20-25 minutes.
  3. When the sauce gets denser, remove the pan from the burner and leave it on the counter to cool down.
  4. For Bechamel Sauce
  5. Get butter and oil in a pot, heat up the pan. Add the flour and stir continuously until it changes color to light brown.
  6. Add milk slowly on top while stirring with a whisk. Add salt, pepper and nutmeg when it starts to get a creamy consistency. Keep stirring until it boils, let it boil for 3 more minutes and leave it on the counter to cool down.
  7. For Lasagna
  8. Find a deep and heat resistant oven tray, place baking paper at the bottom. Pour one scoop of bechamel sauce and 3 tablespoons of tomato sauce for the bottom. Place two sheets of lasagna to cover. Sprinkle 2 dessert spoons of parmesan over the sheets. Repeat this cycle for 4 more times.
  9. Preheat the oven at 220℃. (fan mode on)
  10. Bake the lasagna for 20 minutes.
