Puffy Fried Dough

Tips from the Author
- The oil in the pan must be at least 1 cm deep.
- Make sure that the frying oil is hot before you start frying the dough.

Ingredients

Yoghurt

Instructions

Mix the egg, vegetable oil, baking powder, yoghurt and salt in a large bowl.

Add the flour on top and knead the dough until all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed. The dough you get must be non-sticky.

Roll out the dough you prepared on the counter (you can use a few sprinkles of extra flour to help you roll easier) until it is a few millimetres thick and cut the rolled dough into similar sized squares.

Heat up the oil in a large pan. When the oil is hot enough, start frying the dough squares in batches.

Fry each side of the squares until they become golden. Remove and place them in a dish covered with paper towels to soak the remaining oil.

Repeat this until all the dough squares are fried.
